It's hard to choose a hightlight for the Tui trip, because it was filled with memorable moments: the flight in a small plane into Mt. Aspiring National Park and the hike out; an overnight stay on the boat in Milford Sound; kayaking on the fiord; mountain biking in the Lake Wanaka area. The landscape is breathtaking and unspoiled, especially on the wild west coast. Our guides were knowledgeable and fun to be with. The van was well equipped with food, water and supplies; the main meals were delicious, and the acccommodations were somewhat rustic as expected but certainly fine.

What an amazing two weeks - it says a lot that I cannot pick out the one thing to call the "highlight" because every day was absolutely fantastic. Sure, the weather was perfect, but, from hiking (just, wow!) to mountain biking to kayaking, snorkeling, cave tubing, cultural experiences - every one of these activities was a highlight on its own!

Special kudos to our guides - Claire and Holly! Their sense of humor, encouragement, honest evaluation and accommodation made the trip special, even through I was recovering and objectively had to carefully consider what I could do. I would recumbent the trip and the guides without any reservations to anybody who is interested in exploring the incredible range of activities and cultural heritage the North Island has to offer. Million times - thank you!

We chose a 5 day trip to allow for some independent travel after the Active Adventures Experience and found it a perfect balance. The itinerary was great and our guides were perfect- friendly, knowledgeable and made every effort to help everyone have a great experience

We had a wonderful 14 days hiking in this incredible part of the world. The pictures I saw before going, did not do justice to the beauty of the views, lakes, mountains and rivers. Our guides were incredible! Knowledgeable, available, extremely well organized, helpful and fun! They make us feel like we were the best group they had ever had. The restaurants we went to, not including the W Trail were excellent and gave us a great taste of local dishes and excellent wines. Though the food on the W Trail was plentiful, there was less choice and variety, but the dishes were good. Parts of this trip were challenging for me but it was such a fabulous all around experience and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a terrific adventure!!!!

I would like to let you know what a fabulous trip we had to the the Galapagos Islands with Active Adventures. Everything went perfectly. The accommodations were great, and Pablo was just a gem!!! He was so knowledgeable, and what a cheer leader for the islands. I think his best trait by far was how he encouraged us all to step up the experiences that we might not have done(for most of us it was snorkeling) We had amazing snorkeling experiences. It was a trip of a lifetime.

I was excited about our Condor trip before we went, just from reading the descriptions of the planned activities and from reading others' reviews about this trip. And of course the pictures of Patagonia on the Active Adventures website were incredible, so I knew there would be some amazing sights to see! But I didn't really know quite what to expect. And I must admit, I was a bit nervous about whether I'd be able to manage the physical elements of this adventure. I'm an active, healthy person, but not really used to pushing myself to my physical limits. "Can I do this?," I kept asking myself before we left for our trip. I was determined to try. Well, I'm proud to say: I DID IT!!! I did ALL of it!!! Yes, it was hard, one of the hardest thing I've ever done. But it was SO worth all the effort! All the uphill climbs, the walking in the wind and rain, carrying lots of stuff on my back--- all well worth it when I was able to see some of the most awe-inspiring scenery of my life! And it wasn't just "seeing" those incredible views-- it was feeling like I was part of it, and even changed by it, because of what it took to get there. Thank you to everyone-- our amazingly talented and knowledgeable guides, as well as our fellow travelers--who all played a role in making this Active Adventure truly a trip of a lifetime!

Just finished the Condor trip and it was amazing! All of the guides were excellent both in their knowledge and personality. They were very attentive and accommodating to the different fitness and experience levels of the guests. Would highly recommend this trip!
Although I have to admit my review might be slightly skewed as we hit a window of amazing weather. No Patagonia winds until after the W was completed!

Our trip to Northern Patagonia was fabulous! Not just the hiking, kayaking and rafting, but our guide Mayra was exceptional! She and her guides could figure out our abilities and tailored the physical activities accordingly ....whether slower as I was, or if a more challenging hike would appeal to someone else in the group.
The places we did our overnights were bed and breakfasts, boutique hotels, a mushroom hotel with spa and hot tub in the woods to staying on an island that smelled of fresh wood.
They were all charming and different.
I cannot recommend this trip highly enough!
The Argentina and Chile people were friendly, helpful and so hospitable. It was always fun to explore and chat with them if we could

I'm not sure I'll ever be able to stream a sentence or thought of words that quite describes the Rimu trip I took with active in January 2020. I had the most beautiful trip of a lifetime. Active adventures is truly one of the most wholesome and thoughtful companies in this world. Not a single detail is overlooked. From the beginning, I felt so well taken care of in a way that never felt like it was part of "the job." Active facilitates a magical trip that encourages a place of confidence, passion, enthusiasm and humanity. I could not be more grateful for the guides and people of active adventures and their amazing capacity to create such a memorable and stunning trip. The Rimu trip is a trip of a lifetime as you tour around the entire South Island and experience stunning nature, culture, activity and food. Thank you for everything you did.

The Puma trip was amazing...a great place to be during North America winter...70-85 every day! The itinerary
was jam packed with great hikes, kayaking, and amazing food! The asados were wonderful. Our AA guide Mayra was wonderful and kept us all moving and happy; the local guides were great also, very knowledgeable and friendly. Great location, the views were amazing, and including both Argentina and Chile was a bonus!

This is a fabulous trip and I highly recommend this adventure to anyone who might have second thoughts of the southern Patagonia trek--northern Patagonia cannot be beat in terms of beautiful awe inspiring vistas. The hikes are structured to include different fitness levels, so one can challenge their limits can take a more moderate approach. I cannot speakly highly enough of our group leader, Mayra. Her knowledge, expertise and experience allowed me a confidence to fully embrace this adventure.

The trip was far better than we expected. We were a little afraid we would not be able to keep up with the group, but even the hardest hike up the volcano was not that difficult. We like the small group and staying on the islands. Even going from island to island on a small boat was great. We could get close to islands covered with birds and several times dolphins would play right along the side of the boat. Our guide was great both because of his knowledge and his personally. He would say we might see a surprise in a while and then we would come to something like tortoises fighting over food. We soon learned that all park benches belonged to the sea lions. We snorkeled with them swimming around and under us. Even going to the fish market with the pelicans fighting for scraps was interesting. Combine biking down a mountain, kayaking , hiking, and snorkeling along with the wildlife made it a very special trip.

As an avid hiker and backpacker, my trip to Patagonia was two weeks of epic hiking heaven. Day after day of mindblowing experiences, every single step on the trail was so scenic my eyeballs almost hurt. And great company - team and guests, lots of laughter and trail talk, and at the end of each day, good food, hot showers, and a comfortable bed!

I always thought it would be great to go to the Galapagos Islands and it was. Our guide was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot. He answered all of our questions and encouraged me when I felt like I was holding the group back. We saw lots of animals and birds and got to experience it in a different way than most tourists since we stayed on the islands. There were some "surprises" along the way which were always positive. I really enjoyed the trip.

I’m not sure where to start except to say everything was perfectly handled by our expert guide Alvaro Jaime C. His organizational and attention to detail to every person in our group was outstanding and perfect! In addition, our W-Trek specialists — Andrea Hernandez Soldivia and Paulina Rojas Moreno — were also perfect in every way. The trio of Alvaro, Andrea, and Paulina on the W-Trek worked perfectly together. They were attentive to everyone’s skill level and abilities. It was an absolute pleasure and everyone felt safe and secure in their presence. The hiking part of our Condor trip was the most important to us, but we were also highly satisfied with the accommodations, meals, and transportation.

This was a real adventure! As suggested by our excellent guides, Brogan and Dan, we "embraced the wet boot" to make the best of the record-setting rainfall. We can't speak highly enough of the Active Adventures Queenstown team and our guides/chauffeurs/chefs, who went beyond all expectations to ensure our enjoyment without compromising our safety!
