It was the trip I've been dreaming about for many years and Active Adventures did not disappoint. I was glad I did this trip and my team mates and guide made it even more special.

This was my first adventure trip and I had a wonderful time. Vanessa and Sally were fantastic
- very helpful, knowledgeable and focussed on keeping us all safe. As a sole traveller
This was the ideal forum in which to enjoy the great outdoors in the company
Of friendly likeminded people. A trip to remember. NZ is heaven on earth!

Patagonia is breathtakingly beautiful! The group with Active Adventures organized every aspect of this trip. The only thing we had to do was take photos, make friends and burn calories.

The scenery of Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre and the Southern Ice Fields, along with Torres Del Paine and Cuernos Del Paine, was spectacular. The diversity of terrain one sees in Patagonia, from grasslands to massive lakes, jagged peaks to endless glaciers is incredible.

I loved every moment of this trip. The scenery in New Zealand is simply stunning and every day was packed with new adventures, varying landscapes and different activities to get the best experience of them. The itinerary is really well designed to get a very broad range of impressions of this beautiful country and it is the ideal trip for anyone who loves the outdoors.
What really made the trip perfect though were our two guides Sarah and Graeme - they were both extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the country, enthusiastic and simply great fun to be with. The organisation was totally seamless, Sarah cooked us fantastic meals and Graeme kept us all entertained with his wicked sense of humour. I will no doubt be back to NZ and more than happy to go on another Active trip, there or elsewhere.

Around every turn in New Zealand is another breathtaking view! Rolling green hills dotted with sheep, white capped mountain tops, fern forests, sparkling clear lakes and glacier rivers. It was great meeting the people in our group and each and every one really made the trip a lot of fun...never a dull moment! Our guides Alex and Nick were awesome!! They had a great sense of humor and went with the flow which was sort of ironic. Laughs and more laughs. Our trip took us beyond the ordinary....just amazing. Hiking, biking, flying, jet boating, kayaking... all off the beaten path. Do it again? YES.

I have dreamed of seeing the Torres del Paine for such a long time and wasn't sure whether it would actually live up to my expectation. Well Patagonia was truly incredible, the mountains were stunning (I've seen a lot of mountains from Switzerland to New Zealand to Nepal and although I loved these other places I think Patagonia has the best mountains I have seen in the world). Seeing Torres Del Paine was like seeing a miniature Lake Pukaki, with Milfod Sound waterfalls flowing into it and then an epic rock formation to top it all off! The W hike was brilliant, the scenery varied each day, the wind literally swept us off our feet, the knowledge of the guides was fascinating and the warm quirky Refugios gave us an excellent home for the night.
I was lucky enough to have my birthday during our W hike and it was hands down the best birthday ever, a hike to Grey Glacier, a kayak amongst the icebergs (with tea and chocolate - my favourites) and a big birthday cake, amazing!
On travelling to Argentina I was a bit down as I thought nothing could live up to the incredible time we had in Chile, but a few days later... BAM... Mt Fitzroy and Cerro Torro delivered more stunning hikes and beautiful mountains. Equally amazing. Thank you so much for a trip of a life time, the mountains, the guides, the hikes, the accommodations, the hospitality, the friends, all elements were truly a dream come true.

What an awesome trip. Breathtaking views, challenging hikes, glaciers and mountains and more glaciers and mountains! Plus the hospitality of South America, and being at the bottom of the earth. What an amazing experience. You have to enjoy mountains and glaciers-- because hiking to, kayaking and sailing near was what this trip was about. Plus great guides. The trip leader Sebastian was excellent, well organized, efficient as he could be (we were on holiday is S America, after all) and fun to be with. He made the trip run very smoothly, and had a few tricks up his sleeve as to the best times to go places for the best views and least crowds, as well as some delicious restaurants serving up some regional delights. I was very pleased with the trip over all. I did not have to worry about any details at all, except getting myself up those steep and arduous hikes, and what to take home in terms of memories, photos and souvenirs. The packing list could be improved, because I did not realize how cold and windy it would be. No need to pack any shorts or light clothing, warm weather gear, rain gear and sun/wind protection is what you need the most. Even though the sun was out quite often, it was very cold, and very windy all day every day, and I went during their Springtime. Plus I also recommend hiring/renting a sleeping bag for the W Trek portion, because you can return it right after the trek, you do not need it for the rest of the trip, and it will just weigh you down and take up space in your luggage.

Long story short, I will recommend Active Adventures to anyone I know that is planning a trip to New Zealand. My trip started off a little rocky, thanks to a couple of delayed and missed flights. Luckily, all the stress and worry about getting to where I needed to be and meeting up with my group quickly disappeared. The wonderful people at Active Adventures sorted everything out. They even had a guide waiting at the airport when I arrived to drive me to meet up with my group. The two guides for my trip, Dave and Celia, were wonderful when it came to making sure I was introduced to the rest of my group and that I felt welcome. Overall, my trip was fantastic, and it's not anything that I'll be forgetting anytime soon.

This trip was my very first holiday (alone) since my marriage break up, so it was very important to me. It proved to be a very well organized and run operation. Ken and Laura were the best!!
The information pack i.e. gear to take and training was excellent and right on the money..well researched anf very practical.
The group size was great (10 guests + 2 guides).
The accommodation was great. The food and the skill involved with the preparation and cooking was second to none...Laura's personal touch with "likes and dislikes" was handled like a seasoned professional.
My birthday celebrations were celebrated like I was with my own family..great cake and card!!
Every guest on RIMU was treated individually with respect , warmth and with friendship. Every guest was praised for their achievements and encouraged to get the very best out of them selves and the trip.
The highlight for me was of course the beautiful country but it was the way it was truly loved then shown off like a rare gem by Ken and Laura. Thank you x

This trip changed my life without a doubt!
Seeing Mount Everest and her neighboring snow covered giants was absolutely amazing.
Our guide DK was one of the coolest guys I've ever met. He has so much knowledge of Nepal and the Himalayas. He helped me with so much from day one. And he absolutely loves what he's doing.
Everything went very smoothly. There was so much to see and do on the EBC trek.
My expectations of the trip fell way short of what I experienced with Active Adventures.
I will and have recommended the EBC trip to people I know.
Thank you DK and Active Adventures

Our trip around the South Island was fabulous, start to finish. We experienced so many unbelievably gorgeous sights, had wonderful hikes and other activities. The guides were a real pleasure. Some of the accommodations were among the nicest we have stayed at; others weren't so great though. Wonderful people in our group.
