Our Everest Base Camp Trek was awesome on all levels. To be able to spend a couple weeks in the high Himalayas with like-minded people under sunny skies was a peak experience - pun intended!
The most impressive part though was the leader (DK) and his crew. Through his time in country and relationships with people there, DK has fashioned an itinerary that is very doable for us mortals, stops at the nicest teahouses and restaurants, is designed to keep you healthy, and tries to break down barriers between trekkers and locals.
Aside from the obvious high points of Everest Base Camp and Kala Patar, the monastery at Tengboche and the towns of Khumjung and Namche were unforgettable experiences.
I highly recommend this trip to anybody in decent shape who wants to visit this area!

If you take all the best bits of all the best places you have ever visited and put them all in one Country, guess what... you get New Zealand! Beautiful, enchanting, relaxed and that's just the Kiwi's! 10/10. Thank you New Zealand, you were magical.

our recent trip to the Galapagos was a trip of a lifetime! We had been thinking about visiting these remote islands for 20 yrs., but never had the time or found a land based itinerary to actually sign up. But finally the stars aligned and we found a tour company that did NOT stay on a boat. We wanted to be on land on various islands to experience the local flavor and meet some local people as well. This itinerary was what we had looked for all those years. The 4 islands were so different in flora, fauna and geography, we loved each island and hope to return again in the near future. Jessica was a perfect guide to talk about the history, environmental challenges and the hope to protect these islands for future generations. She always had an answer to various questions from our group and made this trip so wonderful. Highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to delve a little deeper into these islands.

I join all the other reviews in saying this was a trip of a lifetime. The trip was well-organized, the guides were awesome and the people of Nepal were so kind, helpful, inviting and warm. And of course the scenery was breathtaking all the way up to Base Camp/Kala Patthar and back. Lucked out by joining up with a fun group of travelers who love to laugh despite the thin air.

I loved my Rimu trip. It completely lived up to my expectations. Graeme and Sally were great. Sally whipped up some really delicious meals and was so attentive to everyone's needs. Will definitely be recommending active to my friends & colleagues.

I was pushed to my limits and loved every minute of it. I am 62 years old and in good shape but this was a lot of activity in two weeks under various weather conditions. I amazed myself that I could be successful at so many things. I enjoyed staying at so many different accommodations and the bountiful delicious food and snacks.

This was the best trip I could have paid for! The true highlights were our guides Ken and Laura. They were beyond enthusiastic about the trip, the people, and the country. their knowledge led to the profound enjoyment of our group. From the first lunch at Gore Bay they kept us on track without making anyone feel rushed. Laura's attention to each person's dietary needs and personal preferences were warm and well welcomed. There were a few activities that we could not participate in because of weather but that did not stop Ken from making sure that we all got to enjoy every moment of the day and the adventure that we were on. The accommodations were amazing, the food was great, and the people couldn't have been better. I will be recommending this to as many of my friends as possible. It was so good it made me want to be a guide for this trip!

This was an amazing trip. Much tougher than the previous Active trips we have done and with so many more risks. On the mountain it seems everything can be against you-altitude, cold, dust, risk of sickness, etc but we felt very confident with our team of guides and porters. Duck was a thorough and extremely competent guide and "Daddy" and cared for us all as individuals and as a group in general.

One thing I learned on this trip was that New Zealand is not just a country, it's a way of life! When the guides get excited about where you're headed on any particular day you know that your are in for something truly amazing! The places we visited, the places we stayed were 100% true to what NZ is about. Keep it simple, active and knock-your-socks-off spectacular. Active Adventures, (Mustang) Sally, GT(O), Phil and Paul... you guys nailed it! Thank you so much... see you soon :)

Awesome trip. Cassie and Alex were fantastic guides and ensured everything went smoothly.
Cassie was truly amazing the way she confidently drove the bus, kept us on schedule and handled the heavy luggage. The cooked meals were delicious. The other guests were not only extremely interesting but very accommodating. Thanks for making it a memorable holiday. Bob & Glenna

The Rimu trip with Katie and Laura was amazing. From the beginning to the end everything was well organized and more importantly, a lot of fun. There was nothing that they didn't think of. I would highly recommend this trip and look forward to taking other trips with Active Adventures.

The Jaguar Trip, as with my other Active trips, was a trip of a lifetime. On the Jaguar trip, the highlights were the insights into Peruvian culture, the outstanding scenery and the action / activity packed itinerary. Our guide, Erick did a fabulous job; knowledgable, great organizer and wonderful sense of humour.

I had an amazing time on my trip to Peru with Active. Our guide, Erick, was fantastic. He was passionate about Peru and its history and you could tell that he really loved what he did and genuinely cared about each of us and ensuring that we were getting what we wanted out of the trip. My favorite part was the Lares Trek through the Andes, the scenery was breathtaking!

Our small group received lots of personal attention, and had lots of fun with the young, but wise, guides. The activities were appropriate, exciting, interesting and fun. Seeing the Southern Alps at every turn was breath-taking and amazing. I would love to come back to New Zealand, especially the South Island

Having recently returned from a Rimu trip, I can see why it's been written up in National Geographic Adventure magazine as one of the top 25 trips in the world. If you have a spirit of adventure and want to challenge yourself while seeing a beautiful country, consider this trip. It had been on my bucket list since 2009 and finally got to go and bungee jump while in Queenstown - so double dipped. We had great guides and brought back many wonderfully, fun memories.
