There were so many wonderful things about this trip that I don't know where to begin. Perhaps I'll start with the part where we were there during a huge storm - Cyclone Ita had hit Australia and the remnants moved on to where we were in New Zealand! Power outages, road closures, trees down but despite all that our trip was minimally impacted due to the fact that our guides, the awesome Dan and Sarah handled everything beautifully keeping us safe, housed, fed and moving along our itinerary.

The areas seen and the activities were always fun and always breathtaking. The group size was perfect (11 guests) and our travel companions enjoyable. As a couple we were always challenged appropriately to our abilities. That was important to us and we never felt we couldn't do something at the level we enjoyed. If you wanted to go faster, there was always a meet up place - if slower, an option for that too. It was an amazing trip and we would definitely like to do another with Active Adventures.
