New Zealand is a beautiful country and the Rimu lets you see a great deal of it in only two weeks. GT was great fun and I won't forget Sarah's constant encouragement when I thought I'd reached my limit and of course her amazing ability to cook up cordon bleu food at the top of a mountain! Would highly recommend- this is my second trip to New Zealand with Active and they never disappoint.

The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek (AST) was a wonderful melange of sights, sounds and serendipitous moments. From the brilliant color and clamor of Kathmandu, to the crisp, clear morning at Machapuchare Base Camp, our trekking experience was unique and memorable. Our group was an interesting combination of people from across the globe, and as we hiked, we learned about our fellow trekkers, our guides, and about the lives of the Nepalese people, literally passing their doorsteps in the picturesque mountain villages. The AST is full of surprises. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was very gratifying.

This trip absolutely blew my mind. The Galapagos Islands are simply like no other place on earth. We were able to see such a diverse array of wildlife and so many animals up close and personal. Pepo, our guide was so passionate and knowledgeable. My personal favourite was the snorkelling, what an indescribable experience to be surrounded by fish, sea turtles, sharks and sea lions all at once. I cannot wait to return!!

Thanks to group leaders, Dan and Arjun, I was able to complete this sensational journey with pride and dignity. The hiking was difficult for this 75 year old, but it was also exhilarating to trek so close to the powerful and magnificent peaks. Enjoyed the consistently good and satisfying meals and congenial company of the group.

Great trip, great people, great guides. The guides really made the trip. Dan was so knowledgeable and charismatic, he made every stop and town we went through more alive with a little bit of history about the place. Was sorry that the rain and the cyclone on the west coast eliminated a couple of our planned events but the interruption was hardly felt.

Many parts of the trip exceeded my expectations. The FOOD was truly the best! It was nice to be able to order off of the menu when we ate at a restuarant---most guided tours have a "set" menu and it can be limited. The Porters were excellent---always ready to please and happy to perform anything that was requested of them. John, our guide was great. He was very knowledgeable, customer service oriented and easy-going. For the most part, the trip went smoothly and our various connections went off without a hitch. Frank was good too--however, since he took over the Inca piece, we did not get to know him as well but enjoyed his thoughts when we got to Macchu Pichu. My two "issues" are: the day we hiked OVER 12 hours (the Wednesday), it was just too much. We ended up hiking in total darkenss for a few miles and at least 2 hours...this is dangerous and we only had 2 headlamps. The campsite for this piece of the trip needs to be closer so as not to put us in harms way by hiking in the dark. The second issue is kinda minor. I left after seven days and was flown from Cuzco to Lima. Since most international flights leave in the evening, it would have been nice to have more time with the group and spend it in Cuzco. We had over 12 hours to wait for our flights back to the US---a later flight from Cuzco to Lima would have been nice. I know that this part is hard to work around, but it still would have been nice to have another day with our group since we all enjoyed each other so much.

Once again, Active has delivered. From the point of arrival at the airport until the last farewell hugs, we were well looked after by our guides. Not only did they provide enthusiastic and information filled activities during our adventure but their commitment to conservation and passion for their birthplace encouraged us to look at the world around us and question what we could do to keep our own little part of that world more environmentally sound. Pablo and Peppo were attentive to our safety on both the water and land portions of the trip. A well rounded activity schedule with some fun and spontaneous stops made for a tired but happy group at the end of the day! I look forward to returning with another group someday soon!

Well, we picked this trip thinking "if it will be half as good as the Jaguar in Peru, it will be ok"! You did it! Not an Adventure with capital A, but an ADVENTURE! Your country, the scenery, can be described in one word. Well, actually 2. Or 3... Vast! The expanses are amazing (actually amazing sums all) Pristine! The care to preserve your amazing sites is amazing Challenging! I reached and far surpassed my physical endurance and abilities, and did it all! GT and Alex were a great team. They worked well together, and it was from 4-5 in the morning till late at night. Alex is an amazing cook (see, that word again!) we even had a Pavlova! What I remember? My accomplishments! The cascade trail is a blur. It was so hard, I thought I will die (I didn't). Whoever thought rockalanches are trails? The summit trail was incredible, the views, New Zealand at its best. The beer at the end of the trail was good too. For our free day in Qwenstown George and I rode bikes to Arrowtown. Amazing! Another killer day but worth every calorie! It may have been the most memorable day that day :) we passed an ancient willow trail, WOW (I know, not native, but spectacular). Well the last day, another winner. The famous Sealy Tarns and it's however many steps to the top! However, I have to tell you, kiwis can't count, or have a quite short memory (or at least GT does). I KNOW he said 800 steps. Then it was 1200. Then 1800! Additionally, I counted every one of them, and it was more than that! You all better get your story straight! Even GT behind me was breathing hard. (He said that he is allowed to do that). But the piece de resistance that will remain in my heart forever is what GT told me when we came down from the "1800" or so steps, and I was ecstatic that I did something I never knew I could ever! He said: CHOOSE YOUR ATTITUDE. that resonated with me enormously. Tell GT please that that is my first thought every morning, and it has changed my every day life! In addition, now I don't fear exertion and pushing beyond my limits, because I choose my attitude every single day. Thank you GT! I hope both GT and Alex will work with Active for a long time. (Tell Alex not to crinkle plastic bottles under water while in Australia; attracting sharks is not good, it's bad, and no, they do NOT fear us more than we fear them. Please explain that to her, she would not listen to us!) In summary it was an AMAZING ADVENTURE! Thank you, well done! GT and Alex, always cheerful, always full of energy, tireless! They work hard, so please give them a raise! :)))) Cristina

The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek was absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed getting up early every morning and going outside the Tea house for the most exceptional views in the peace, quiet and serenity of the early day. As the upper peaks of the Himalayas slowly reveal themselves along this Trek, I was always in awe that I was going to walk to that place and experience it in full.
