Thoroughly enjoyed this adventure of a lifetime. We had always wanted to trek the foothills of the Himalays and immerse into the Nepalese culture. All of this happened and more. Totally taken by surprise at the amount of hiking (up down thousands of stairs) necessary to be at the base of these majestic giants, but if you want to touch them you have to hike six days to get there; making this hiking achievement the most difficult we have yet experienced. "All of the familiar signposts are not there"...making the reality of having truly been on an adventure so real and so never happened before. All of this was the result of an extremely qualified God given truly gifted leader, D.K., followed by the best people I have known Arjun, Bahrat, and the six other porters that teach lessons in life on humility, love, and perseverance. To the inn keepers at tea houses, how wonderful, fresh, wholesome the food prepared was...they make the best French fries. The rest will live in my head and the views of Annapurna 1,2,3, South; Machhapuchhare, Hiunchuli--great times with fellow hikers (now friends)...I'll take them all to the next world.

Absolutely wonderful, I took this trip because I wanted to challenge myself as someone who doesn't do a lot of outdoor oriented activities and it did push me, but gave me a sense of achievement and fulfillment which I can definitely cement as something to look back on. My guide Cassie, and the rest of my group were very welcoming and accommodating, making this marvelous trip absolutely memorable.

The tour was so well organized everything flowed from one activity to the next. Our guide Pepo was so informative, friendly, and spot on when finding wild life. Didn't want to come home, and can't wait to go back.

I am struggling to find the words to describe this trip. Awesome, spectacular, phenomenal don't do it justice. From our very first contact with Active through the last day of our journey it was the most enjoyable travel experience we have ever had by a long shot! The guides, Andrew and Sally were superb. Their warmth, love of life and thirst for adventure, sense of humor, knowledge of and pride in their country were palpable. They did all of the work and made it look effortless. The activities were so well organized and exciting. The natural beauty of NZ is absolutely breathtaking and experiencing it with Andrew and Sally made it that much better. Seemed like each day was more beautiful, fun, exciting than the day before. The food, the various accommodations, the activities, were just lovely. We wanted an Active vacation and this trip pushed us to our fitness limits! We have raved about Active Adventures and the Rimu trip in particular with all of our family and friends and really anybody who will listen!

I just completed our family scrapbook of the trip - and noticed that everyone was smiling all the time. This was a great family vacation! Thank you, thank you. I love having time to tour the villages we stayed in - fresh Galapagos coffee at 7am is THE BEST. We saw so many different animals, birds, plants and landscapes - the trip was better than I hoped for. Our guide Eduardo was wonderful - he knew everything - kept us on schedule - was completely unflappable - and was amazing with the young adults in our family - introducing them to the local nightlife. Everyone agreed that the most magical part was snorkeling with sea turtles -to just be with these huge, calm creatures was awe inspiring. Relaxing on a few deserted beaches provided cherished family time. I also liked the 2 dinners that we had on our own - although we were part of a wonderful group of 12, it was quite nice to slip away as a family of 6 every now and again. We will certainly use Active Adventures again - and I hope some day to return to the Galapagos as it is not only the epicenter of evolution, but of conservation too. I was impressed with everything - from lobster dinner to highland springs, sharks, boobies and albatrosses. Thank you - and Eduardo - for making Christmas 2013 fabulous.

Great itinerary, scenery, weather (lucky) & guides, who took us to areas we wouldn't have done on our own. I also loved the sea kayaking in Marlborough Sounds.

Loved the new far north section, including the sand boarding (rivals Queenstown activities). Great guides again. The Tongariro Crossing was the highlight - I felt so lucky to have done it.

Wonderful leaders who we had complete faith in. They went out of their way to help us. We liked the varied accommodation and the activities suited us. The walks were appropriate for the party. The size of the party was right though not sure about booking one single and 8 couples. Loved the biking the jet boat the plane ride and kayaking. Maybe giving us an hour before the evening meal to relax and socialise would be good. Overall v well organised.

We couldn't have asked for a better way for our family to spend the Easter holidays together. Certainly never a dull moment! Fantastic guides and lucky to have a great group to travel with. Such a beautiful environment to keep everyone interested in all the activities, 15yrs old to 50yrs old!

The 2014 Rimu trip was one of the best organized trips I have been on. It took us to most of the South Island main sights, which naturally involved a bit of driving. The scenery was spectacular and the activities well balanced. There were options for more physically demanding hikes, or less so, depending on your inclincation. I think the fitter you were, the more you enjoyed the trip as the scenic rewards were better the higher you got. The March 2014 weather was really good, which was a bonus. The guides were fantastic.

The eleven day Kauri trip takes you through most of the sights of Northern and Central North island. Having already done the South Island, I appreciated the different activites and sights of the North Island. The Tongariro crossing is a highlight, so be sure you are physically fit to do it. I much enjoyed the snorkelling and sight of the Poor Knights Island. Despite being a bit ho-hum about the sand-boarding before trying it, it turned out to be a blast. The Maori cultural experiences were also great.

We loved this trip! It was the perfect combination of hiking, riding and kayaking. In addition to our daily adventures, we also learned a great deal about New Zealand's culture, history, people and way of life from our outstanding Kiwi guides GT and Alex.

My wife and I are extremely happy with our experience with Graemme an Alex and our bus mates! We were able to see and experience New Zealand while we were hiking, kayaking, and mountainbiking. We feel we were able to see New Zealand much more intimately by immersing ourselves on hiking trails and in kayaks. We got a much better feel for the country than from a tour bus window.
