Destiny wanted me to be in the Kiwi Tour and gave me the opportunity of doing one of the most special trips of my life! Due to a cyclone, my holidays in Australia were cancelled in the last minute and Active Adventure made possible to get me on board the trip with very short notice. Beautiful places, great guides&travellers and sunny weather …just perfect!!! Our tour guides, Sarah& Andrew, thought in every single detail making the trip even more amazing. Now back to Spain but I am wishing to come back to NZ any day !

This was a wonderful trip. The scenery and hiking is everything that I expected and more. Kayaking on Lago Grey and ice hiking on Grey Glacier were highlights. Hotels were comfortable and restaurants were well chosen with excellent food choices. Our trip leader was professional, friendly, and made the trip seem effortless. A few tweaks to the itinerary, including adding another day of hiking, would bring this to a 5 star trip.

Active Adventures is certainly the best way to experience New Zealand. The varied landscapes and hiking trails gave a true feel for the South Island. The guides, Dave and Nicole, kept us well in tow and well fed. Loved the trip!

What a fabulous trip! It exceeded my expectations. My wife and I (OK, mostly me) were looking for an active vacation and we got this in spades. Everyday there were new sights that just got better each day. Our guides were wonderful and the food we had was plentiful, great tasting, varied and really healthy. I think the South Island of New Zealand (need to come back and do the North Island trip) is probably the most beautiful country that I have visited. I really enjoyed our time with the group we had and our guides. Well done Active Adventure!

This trip was truly fantastic. I had been anticipating it for a long time and it easily exceeded my expectations. Words can't adequately describe the splendor of New Zealand's natural landscape. I appreciated the variety of locations and activities (even if it did mean more driving than I'd expected). Our guides, Huw and Nick, were fantastic, planning every detail, keeping us stocked with snacks, preparing delicious meals, answering all my (many!) questions about native flora, and staying positive throughout. Their energy was endless! My friends and family followed my adventures through my blog and none of them could believe what an incredible country New Zealand is and all the amazing, fun, cool things I was doing.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. It was the second time we visited NZ, but it was very different from our last trip. Lauren is a real Iron Lady, who did everything we needed and did them perfectly. With a 60-pound backpack on her back, Lauren cheerfully led us to hike for three and a half hours to reach a hut and then prepared dinner with everything from her backpack, impressive. Amanda was also helpful and a good companion during hiking. Our group members were marvelous, very kind and very helpful. We will definitely recommend the tour to our friends and are planning to join another tour in South America in the near future. A Wong from Hong Kong

Active New Zealand's Rimu trip is a perfect way to get to see the highlights of the South Island in a concise, fun way. Our two excellent guides, Kate and Alex, were able to masterfully engineer that unique combination of team effort and still make one feel they are on vacation and being catered to. I did the 3 day backpacking option and it was absolutely beautiful to hike Robert's ridge with 2,000 foot drops on either side. To get the most out of your adventure it is best to get into shape before you go. The activities were very well done and the outsourced vendors were always on time and prepared. Food on the trip was excellent and attention to detail by Active NZ allowed even those with food allergies to have special diets.
I recommend Active NZ as your outfitter if you want to have a great time in NZ!

This is one of those trips you'll never forget. The tour guides were excellent and complimented the trip and experience perfectly. The only problem was that it wasn't longer! Getting to know the fellow travelers was a lot of fun and we had a great time with everybody. They catered the adventures for the skill level of those in the group, so we'd break off when we wanted more challenges and could sit back when needed. I can't wait to take another Active Adventures trip ... and can't wait to get back to New Zealand!

After booking our Condor trip I spent 6 months buying clothing and equipment so I would be prepared for all weather and hiking conditions. Patagonia is known for its unpredictable episodes of intense wind and rain. Your packing list was extensive, but I felt fully prepared to layer for each hike which allowed me to take in the sheer beauty of my surroundings in comfort. After a long climb to the bases of Fitz Roy and Los Cuernos, we could only look in awe at the beauty that lay before us! Sebastian, our guide, was efficient, organized and caring. He made our safety a top priority, and with humor and surprise treats, went out of his way to make this trip an unforgettable Patagonian adventure.
