This trip was all we hoped it would be, and more. You promised an active schedule, and our days were filled with great hikes. You promised good food, and it was gourmet quality, cooked to group and individual needs. You promised a memorable trip, and it truly was.

this is a trip of a life time; incredible experience of heli-hiking at the Glacier. Without Active Adventures in NZ, I never would have experienced this trip of life time!

On my journey home from Patagonia I sat next to the window on the flight from Punta Arenas to Santiago and peered out at the mountains below. Waves of turbulent rock pierced frothy clouds. There was the great Southern Chile ice field, flowing glaciers and icy lakes. I had to pinch myself - I WAS THERE!

This was truly everything I expected and more. This was a fantastic active adventure. The wild wind of Patagonia blew into my heart. Sebastian is a real asset to your trip. He effortlessly organized all the details so that we could just enjoy the trip without a care. We kept saying to him, you are working so hard, how can you do this all, he would reply "I love it" and I believe him, he loves his work and does it well. I don't know who your other leaders are, but we are glad Sebastian led our group.

I've never seen such a beautiful and peaceful place for kayaking, and staying at Lochmara Lodge. Just impossible to describe how many special places I visited for my retirement vacation in New Zealand with classy, superb, fantastic guides. And mountain hiking and beach walking with incredible views. I will long remember this special trip. And also, we were very well fed. In addition, mountain hiking and beach walking with incredible views! I'll never forget. No question, this was the trip of life time!

The trip was very well planned, providing a smooth, comfortable and relaxing (while active!) experience. But the real jewel of the trip was our guide, Cynthia - you have the best active adventure guide on our pale blue dot working for your company. We can't wait to take another trip with Active, and we'll be seeking her out specifically!

As if the views were not spectacular enough, every location we went, we got to know our local guides who gave us incredible insight into the Peruvian culture and spirit. Local people were so proud of their homes, farms and families. They were eager to show us that pride, answer all of our questions, make us feel comfortable. I was very humbled by how hard these people work and how happy they are. A breath of fresh air!

I have travelled the world and seen wild and beautiful things. I have gone with fine companies. However, I have never had such service from a company as active adventures. From the moment I requested information and got a quick personal telephone reply till the very end of my trip, I knew I had made the right decision. I remember when I talked to a young woman on the phone who answered all of my questions and before hanging up she told me he was off "to walk her small dog Pippy(?)" - I think that kind of realness sold me. So thank you whoever that was! Lynette was so friendly as well as very helpful and I hope she found some good snow in Mammoth as well as had a good time at Disneyland. Now on to my guides; Sarah and Huw. You could not have asked for better. I am vegan although I told Sarah vegetarian would do. And how well she did that! she was so attentive to the small things such as giving me only dark chocolate in my treat bag instead of milk chocolate. She is incredibly bright and efficient. After carrying a monster pack in the rain up 3000 feet, she and huw cooked us a fabulous dinner. Sarah will go far and will be able to do anything she wants when she puts her mind to it. Huw was the perfect counterpart for Sarah. You always felt safe on the road with him and knew he would do his best to show you the wonderful sights. But... the best was his storytelling! He could weave a wonderful tale and make you feel like a kid again waiting for the ending. They maintained a total air of professionalism even though they are young and in a relationship. They complimented each other so well and worked perfectly together. Both of them went out of their way to make our trip a true lifetime experience. I had my birthday there and they created a party I will not forget with champagne, dark chocolate and cake. Again, attention to detail! By the way, I loved my party hat and wore it on our Routeburn hike. So you may have noticed I have not spoken too much of New Zealand itself. I think you all know what a beautiful country you live and work in. It fulfilled all of my expectations for its beauty and excitement. However, it is the people that really make a difference. Everyone we met wanted to make sure we had a good time. You all sure are a friendly bunch! So thank you for a never to be forgotten trip, from the backpacking in rain and snow up 3000 ft to kayaking in the fabulous Milford Sound to my first helicopter ride and an adventure-filled glacier hike. Thank you for all the wonderful places we stayed, for "Jean" our super bus, for delicious food, incredible guides and your beautiful kiwi attitude. The world could take a lesson from you. Blessings on all of you. Linda Glazier

Ken is an amazing guide - from soup to nuts! He knew everything about the South Island - you name it, he knew the answer. And, if he didn't, he was very honest about it. You can tell he's a very experienced guide. Most of all, his amazing infectious laughter had all of us laughing - even during the toughest of hikes! Mel is an amazing chef and guide. She's tough as nails but put her in the kitchen and she melts into just the most thoughtful and precise chef. She accommodated all of our difficult cuisine needs and kept us healthy and laughing. Personally, I have a lot to thank her for pushing me to get to the top of Mueller ridge to experience the amazing glacier views while eating my lunch. And... I cannot say enough about the itinerary of the Rimu trip. Perfecto! On my way back from Christchurch, I had my map open to mark all the places I've been and the kiwi sitting next to me said "wow, you hit ALL the right places!" THANK YOU, Active Adventures. You did not disappoint.
