This trip was just what I needed! It gets you up out of your seat and into nature through hikes, bike rides, and water ways. We had a variety of ages and physical abilities on our trip and the guides were so accommodating and great at setting a comfortable pace for everyone. They fed us fantastic food and really knew the area. You could tell they enjoyed showing off their corner of the world and they were excellent hosts thank you very much Moose and Derrick!

Our family of four (including older teens) absolutely LOVED our trip. I cannot say enough good things about our guides Derek and Moose. They were knowledgeable, cheerful and tireless. They made it fun for everyone, and served up delightful surprises.

Autumn is one of eight grandchildren in our family. At their 10th birthday, each grandchild chose a weeks vacation with my wife and I. Autumn’s pick, she loves sloths, Costa Rica. Our previous experience with Austin Adventures was truly outstanding. Ella, now 12, picked the Yellowstone Trip with Austin and we loved it.
This Costa Rica trip was just as wonderful as the Yellowstone Trip two years ago. First and foremost, our guide, Alejandro Sanchez was beyond great! We were concerned since we wanted Autumn to share her experience with other young families on this trip but we ended up being the only ones. Three of us and Alejandro. He spent quality time explaining things and describing the various animals, birds and other wild life throughout the 7 day excursion. We loved this trip so much that we are considering scheduling something in the next few years with our entire family. Costa Rica is a beautiful country and the people are very welcoming. My granddaughter Autumn, my wife Landy and I only have one word to describe our experience on this trip. OUTSTANDING!

My family had an amazing time with Austin Adventures in Yellowstone. The sites and scenery were amazing and I feel like our guides always found a way to showcase the best of Yellowstone without the crowds. I could never have planned a similar experience on our own. Everything from the red carpet in front of the van and snacks waiting for us after our hikes made us feel truly special. The other families in our tour were also great and my daughter enjoyed spending the evenings playing games and cards with the other kids.

David, Jamie and Jackie were our guides for the Yellowstone Adventure and they did a fabulous job. They were knowledgeable, personable, timely, efficient, flexible and funny. They planned ahead and were prepared for any unexpected event. They were great cooks, preparing multiple delicious meals, meeting the dietary preferences of all age groups. They provided very personalized service to every member of the group and met every special request with a smile, which was much appreciated. Our experience with our granddaughter in Yellowstone was extra-special in their company.

I felt like we had the "cut the line" pass for Yellowstone. We saw the best of the park and stayed at the most convenient places. Our guides navigated us through the park with insider knowledge that would have been impossible to do on our own.
Not only did our guides have the inside track on where to go and how to get there, they also had a treasure trove of information about the history and geology of the park to boot! It was awesome!

Our family of five have been looking forward to visiting Yellowstone for many years. David, Jamie and Jackie made this trip so memorable. They all went out of their way to celebrate a family birthday and other special events for other guests. The itinerary was a great mix of scenic and informative hikes mixed with really fun experiences for the children e.g horse-riding or white water rafting. The group was not too large.
One of the best trips holidays and tours we have done as a family. Your guides were exceptional especially David with his enthusiasm and knowledge.

Our winter hiking trip was an incredible and challenging experience made even more remarkable by our tireless and informative guides Lynette and Emma. We saw many beautiful vistas and varied scenery. New Zealand is beautiful in both summer and winter but with fewer crowds in winter, this trip seemed to reveal more of the authentic New Zealand. Everyone we met was friendly and cheerful. We will be back for more one day soon!

The trip is so beautiful. Copland is hard...but it's a good feeling to accomplish the trek. Each of the accommodations was fantastic and the trip is very well balanced to allow for effort followed by recuperation.

Spectacular!
This trip exceeded everything I had hoped. Hearing animals at night, seeing animals up close — this is the trip for those who really want to see and hear it all.
Wonderful food — especially cooking by KD and crew — and comfortable accommodations made bush camping a joy.
Izzy and the other guides made our animal encounters even richer because of their tracking knowledge and ability to get us up close.
I loved every minute. This is a trip of a lifetime.

I received 3 different itineraries from you before the trip. None of them were followed. One said "Game Drives" which is what I booked with Austin Adventures. Then I started getting emails from Active Adventures whose itinerary said hiking twice daily up to 9 miles per day along with 3 days of kayaking. (you can not ever see predatory animals when on foot in Africa). So my questions to you were answered by sending yet another itinerary with no hiking mentioned and told to buck up and get ready to walk over the phone. All was very confusing. As it turned out everyone on the trip booked first with Active Adventures and were totally let down due to not enough walking. There were rumors that the two companies just merged. Either Way the experience was fantastic and magical thanks to our Tour Guide Izzy. He got us to the right guides at the right times where we drove and had exceptional wildlife viewing. Some Large Cats just walked right past us or laid down under our Rover. The tracking and guiding knowledge was Exceptional. They knew all the roads and exactly where they would take us for the best viewing. There were not too many other people until we hit Chobe and of course Victoria Falls. I'd leave off Chobe entirely or only do one day there. Two were a repeat. The first 6 or 7 days were the best trip of my life.

The itinerary was perfect. The first 2 nights were at a camp settled next to a pod of Hippos who we heard splashing and "laughing" - with a wonderful team who made us feel at home. The next 4 nights we camped at 2 different locations - with a staff that felt like family. The tents were huge with ensuite bush bathrooms (hot showers offered daily - wow!), incredible and plentiful food. The game drives DELIVERED! The expert trackers brought us to see rare things (even things THEY rarely see), like lions feeding on a kill a leopard made - with the sad hungry leopard watching it from the tree above; wild dogs also enjoying lunch, giraffes, cheetahs, baboons, and oh my the elephants and giraffes. Each evening we watched sunset among the amazing creatures in the delta followed by star gazing (seeing the milky way from the comfort of the campfire was a highlight).
We then took a scenic flight up to Kasane where we spent 2 nights in the Chobe Bush Lodge which was insanely comfortable and beautiful with sunset cruises, and once again delicious and plentiful food. A quick road trip across the border to Zimbabwe, we then went to Ilala Lodge in Victoria Falls. The falls were magnificent (so much so that the next day when we had free time, I went back to take it all in again).
As always (this is my third trip with Active Adventures), the guides and all supporting staff were incredible - making us so comfortable and feeling like family. Our primary guide, Izzy, who led the group the whole trip, was absolutely amazing (knowledgeable, experienced, and warm). The locations, sites, and accommodations were amazing.

The perfect combination of cycling, hiking and water based activities concentrated in a specific region of Alaska! The meals were soooo good and we were so well taken care of. Our guides, Jessi and Olivia, were awesome - they were well prepared and flexible/adaptable to the group's needs. Overall, a great active trip in such a beautiful location.
