I never ride off road before this trip. I loved this trip combined leisure and challenges on each ride. After this trip, I gained great confidence on off road riding. Jess and Jac are the best guides of all of our trips. They truly cared about us and made sure we had a great adventure in NZ. And the love they showed for NZ and outdoor adventures lifestyle was infectious.

We had Mother Nature watching over us for 2 spectacular weeks in Patagonia and fortunate to see all the towering peaks and glaciers, many framed in blue skies! Gustavo was an outstanding tour leader and our local guides in both Chile and Argentina were equally superb. Beyond the visual rewards, we learned so much about the geology, hydrology, history, evolution, indigenous peoples and current residents that make Patagonia so interesting and special. Many trips "see" Patagonia but this journey was an opportunity to really "experience" Patagonia and the W hike was the highlight. We met hikers from around the world on the trail and at the refugios and our group really bonded in that shared living environment. We loved that the itinerary included some biking, kyaking, and boating time as well as the hiking/backpacking. Our hotels and meals were all terrific and well-organized and we felt safe and well-prepared for each day's adventure. We are very happy that we chose Active Adventures to guide us on this amazing trip!

Totally loved this trip. It was a great combination of tough backpacking for the first week and more relaxed day hikes on the second week so it was a great blend. The additional activities of the kayak, walking on the glacier and the bike ride were truly awesome. Guides were great, friendly and worked with us all as there were different levels of fitness on our team. The most surprising item for me was the food....both in the hostels and the Cafe's in town. Food in this part of the world is amazing and the choices of the guides were all excellent. Weather for us was not the best, but thats also a part of the adventure. Its a great part of the world to hike and the nature is amazing. I would highly recommend Active as your trek guides.

We were originally scheduled for the Iguana tour with one week in Cusco Peru/ Machu Pichu and one week in the Galapagos. The Cusco part was canceled by Active though the town had reopened by the start of that trip. The GALAKIWI Company provided and excellent trip in the Galapagos. The guides were excellent and they were able to add activities that a part of the 8 to 10 day Galapagos trip. GALAKIWi customer service was excellent. Not sure I can make the same comment about Active's customer service. It was disappointing that Active did not inform GALKIWI of the Cusco cancellation. It would have gone a long way to have this acknowledgement. Even better if Active had provided a personalized note to those participants and a free drink or something. the interactions with Active's sales manager Sam handled were poor and now we feel he outright lied to us. He told us all the people on the Iguana tour had decided to do only the Galapagos portion, this is true if only the 6 of us were doing it but I suspect it was more than 6.
In email you sent to everyone,5 Common Questions, before the trip there were some glaring inaccuracies. On #1 in the email - there was not call or voicemail the day before. In #2 We were not provided a water bottle. Based on this we did not bring water bottles. We had to buy them when we got there. On #5 Tipping - all guides do not have Venmo,
A separate non trip note - your new travel wallet combine with Austin Adventures does not show all the Active trips taken. It show an Austin trip we did in 2010 and the Galapagos

We had a very nice trip to the Galapagos Islands. The activities were fun and varied, the food was great and the hotels clean and cozy. Of course the best things about Active Adventure trips are the guides.....and this trip was no exception. Our Galakiwi guide Paola and local guide Martin were professional, knowledgeable and best of all, fun!

Our guides were excellent in so many ways - multi-talented, funny, and extremely knowledgeable. We ate well and our accommodations were nice. Unfortunately, after participating for 5 fun days with beautiful hikes, several of us got COVID and we were unable to participate in the rest of the trip.

I went on this trip with my family not quite knowing what to expect but we had the trip of a lifetime! The wildlife and views we saw each day in the Galapagos were enough to make the trip worth it. Add on our adventures and amazing tour leaders, Fabricio and Pauolo, and the trip is untoppable. I can’t say enough good things about everyone at GalaKiwi and the local guides hired for our trip. They were very patient with us, extremely knowledgeable, and were as excited as we were everytime we pointed something new out! I would insist everyone try to make it on this trip sometime during their lives!

This trip was a great way to learn about NZ geography, culture,& economy, and to see much of what your country has to offer ~ lots of variety, from small town to "tourist town", from coastal beaches to inland glaciers and mountains. Seeing Mt Cook reveal itself from the clouds was a special treat, indeed! The hikes were lovely, with plenty of time allowed for sightseeing, picture taking and camaraderie on the trails. Our group of 12 was a delight, as were our guides, Aleisha & Jessi. Could not have enjoyed it more. Thank you.

This was a truly memorable trip. Pepo and his team made the trip enjoyable and stress free. The very first day Pepo laid out the "Super Plan" for the day and it ran like clock work. Not only was it well organized but Pepo and the staff explained each activity so that we felt comfortable and safe. The meals they planned were delicious with varied local foods to try in quaint local restaurants.

Whilst I enjoy walking with my dog at home or an occasional national park this was very new to me. Loved the experience on Doubtful Sound, just so surreal remembering kyaking in the Fiordland, the captain putting the sails up with numerous dolphins swimming around us & the tranquility of the surrounds. Every walk was beautiful with amazing scenery. We were very fortunate with the weather. I do need to get my confidence up on the downhill slopes :( Our guide DK was very passionate with his Maori story telling which was very interesting, I believe Tash passed her first initiation as a guide with flying colours. Thoroughly enjoyed our picnic & other places we visited. We had a great time with the rest of the "family" for our 5 day hike!!
