The ziplining and tubing were great. I always felt safe, but had a lot of fun. I am not sure what I enjoyed more, ziplining and rock climbing, or tubing. Tubing in the rapids was very unique. The tubes just bounced off the rocks as we went down the rapids. Everyone had a blast!
The guide for standup paddle boarding was a great teacher. Just about everyone was able to standup at some point. The trip was a good mix of activities with some down time. We enjoyed sampling the local cuisine. The guides took great care of us and all the locals we met were so nice! My only complaint is that we only saw a small part of Costa Rica. We hope to come back and see some more of this beautiful country.

Really liked how the focus was on hiking, but we also had opportunities to do other activities too. Views were amazing whether while biking, hiking, kayaking, walking on a glacier, in a boat, or even from our refugio dorm room. Dinners were exceptional - thank goodness we got in a lot of exercise! Guides were fantastic: knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and organized.

The guides were excellent - the bird watching, hiking, sup boards, kayaking, adventuring, waterfalls and more were much to write home about. Thank you, Alex and Jose for such a wonderful experience. You rock!

We explored the South Island, from Glaciers to Rain Forests to Beaches, Mountain Peaks and Fiords. Outstanding guides engaged us in the country's commitment to restoring the ecology of the island, especially the native birds and plants. We hiked, kayaked, visited wildlife parks and museums, ate ice cream in resort towns, took an early morning boat ride up to the edge of a waterfall taller than most sky scrapers. The food was really good, too, even for this vegetarian. I'm recommending this trip to all my friends.

I had such a great time on this trip! Our guides Jess and Jacob were fantastic. They were so organized, knowledgeable, personable, and outstanding cooks! At first I thought having them cook most of our meals might make the trip less special, but the opposite was true. I only wish I could have them at home to cook for me! The one exception where I was impressed by the restaurant was the amazing buffet we had at the Hermitage Hotel. It was the best buffet I've ever been to and I've traveled a lot! An huge number of choices and everything was absolutely top quality!
I loved all of the places we went and the hikes were all fantastic. We were lucky to have great weather up until our last full day where there was light rain throughout our hike. At the turn around point in that hike, Jess and Jacob walked out with fresh baked cookies and hot cocoa! How did they manage to accomplish that?! So perfect. It totally made up for the rain.
We did have a sick person in our group but Jess and Jacob accommodated the concerns of the group and alleviated any fears that we had. There did seem to be a lot of COVID around ( a leader of a 10 person bicycle group said he had lost 4 of his group to COVID). But I feel our guides protected us perfectly.

Our local guides, Gustavo, Andrea, Andy and others were outstanding and made this trip special. Their level of customer service, knowledge of the local history, culture, flora, fauna and geology was amazing. They are great ambassadors for Chile annd Argentina.

I had an amazing trip and feel that Active Adventures did a great job. I was properly prepared because of the info they sent and conversations we had. I attribute most of the trip's success to, besides the amazing destination, the extremely qualified trip guide, Gustavo-not sure if that was actually his title. He stayed with us the whole time, and took care of logistics. He has a passion for people, his work, and the adventure. He knew exactly how to handle all the interesting situations that came up. As I was on this trip alone, he almost seemed like my personal buddy, responding to my "ahs" and "wows", like it was his first time seeing these views as well. He took the time to work out an issue with my return flight, as well as one evening walking hot soup back to the hotel for a sick trip member. He is someone who is very good at what he does.

Overall a great trip. The guides performed well. As my wife said, we were spoiled from the last trip with Ryan and Emma, but they were but they were more than adequate.
    Couple of observations:
    - Lots of driving on the trip, probably due to the nature of where we needed to go on the North Island.
    - Challenging hikes, which we welcomed.
    - The last hike involved a steep climb and descent, with a walk along a very rocky beach. It would have been helpful if guides suggested we bring hiking shoes and water shoes to change shoes before the beach.
    - The education regarding the indigenous people and forest hike were a great addition to the trip

The country, the culture, the people and the weather were perfect. We had a great trip hiking and seeing most of the South Island. The guides, Nicola, Bragen and Lynnette went above and beyond. We learned so much from them and they took great care of us. Nicola's cooking was delicious and healthy. The hikes varied from challenging to easier hikes in between. We will definitely book another Active Adventures tour.

Our trip with Active and our wonderful guide/hosts (Lynette, Nicola, and Brogan) was, in a word, wonderful. I cannot think of a better way to get to know the South Island of New Zealand. Our hosts were charming, helpful, empathetic, great listeners, and great hike leaders, and our main 'chef,' Nicola, outdid herself each day. We rate this trip an 11 out of 10.

Our trip throughout the South Island of New Zealand with Hannah and Noah was the best trip we have ever taken! We've traveled a lot around the world and the experiences, hospitality, and breathtaking scenery that we encountered on this trip were the best. Every detail of the trip was accounted for and allowed you to just enjoy. Our highlight of the trip was flying into the Siberia Valley, hiking up to Crucible Lake, swimming in the lake, and enjoying a night hanging out in the hut. A huge thanks to Hannah and Noah for making our trip a once in a lifetime experience!

My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic 2 weeks in Patagonia as a 50th birthday celebration. I had wanted to do the W Trek and explore the El Chalten area, so when looking for trip options, Active Adventures had the best combination. Our primary guide, Zac, was wonderful. He always kept things running smoothly and shared his expansive knowledge, in combination with our other guides, of the areas we explored. We lucked out with some amazing weather with only a bit of rain one day during the W. It's an amazing part of the world to explore. We hope to do the Northern Patagonia trip in the future.

We had a fabulous trip!! Our guides were amazing and super competent. We saw some truly special sites and had some great adventures we never would have accessed on our own. I would say positives were really fun adventures and hikes. I liked how the itinerary varied every day and we got to go on boats, kayaks, planes, bikes etc. We were never bored! The food and accomodations were wonderful. The only thing we didn't love was the hours and hours spent in the van! That first day was a whopper.....we were worried that the trip was just going to be looking our the window at New Zealand. May be some warning ahead of time would have been helpful?
