My brother and I were thrilled to make it to EBC in the fall on 2023. We had incredible views of Everest and many, many more snow capped mountains along the way to base camp. Our guides (Kim and Arjun) were incredibly knowledgeable about the region we were trekking through and all the surrounding peaks we saw. Nepal is a beautiful country and we had an amazing experience from Kathmandu to EBC and back.

My first trip with Active Adventures! I say I am very pleased! I very much enjoyed not only my trip, but I had fun with my group and my guides. I will miss them dearly! What a great first experience and I will be doing more adventures with Active! Worth the money!

Besides being the perfect, challenging adventure for a solo woman, the group size was perfect (9) and the itinerary was so interesting. Just the right amount of history and fact-based information, the right amount of friendship and encouragement, more than enough good food and accommodation, and amazing leadership. David set the bar high as he led us each day; always laughing and teasing; always encouraging. And Elize was a master of facilitation. She worked hard to make this adventure run at a high level and to accommodate each of our needs. She brought out the best in us and became a good friend.

Fully filled days. Amazing itinerary. Super guides, knowledgeable and accommodating. The trek is well planned to see as much as possible of Spain. Beaches, mountains, farms, people, and history.
Loved it and recommend it. The only criticism is that this hike is not even close to level 3. It is a 1.5 to 2 max. Had it been labeled as such, my wife would have for sure joined and enjoyed.

This was my second trip with Active, and while the trip was wonderful, it wasn't an 'active' trip- it was a food tour with some walking. Since the trip was labeled 'El Camino' I expected much more walking. We spent WAY more time sitting and eating than doing any physical activity, which was a massive shame and really my only complaint about the trip. My mother didn't join us as this trip was labeled 'Level 3', but even Level 2 would have been generous. We saw beautiful towns, ate UNBELIEVABLE food, learned about the history of the area, stayed at wonderful hotels....but we didn't walk enough of the Camino. While I was the youngest guest by quite a bit, I think the majority of guests would have appreciated at least the option to walk more. On my first trip with Active (Rimu), we often had options- those that needed a slower day vs. others- but regardless, the days were PACKED with physical activities. I thought this would be the same and I would have opted for a sandwich on the go for a few days- rather than a lavish lunch- if it meant I could have experienced the Camino more. I would recommend this to friends of my parents, but I would not recommend this trip to people that are below 50 and hoping for an 'active' vacation.

An amazing experience I will never forget! The amazing views on the Inca trail were definitely earned, our guide Zac was the best, making the journey our own. Our travel companions started out as strangers became dear friends. The porters were a welcome sight at the end of each day's journey brought a smile to our faces with a high five for everyone. There were so many wonderful moments and personal feelings of accomplishment. I totally recommend this trip for anyone up for an Active Adventure!

Overall the trip was very good and Emma from Active adventures was excellent. The French guides tended to be a bit standoffish and did not socialize easily although 11 days together eventually wore some of the edges off. Being the only single person was a little odd but I did enjoy the single rooms. One of the other guests was a little passive aggressive with me but this was nothing that the group leaders could do anything about. The lead guide Katarina did cause me to have to spend an additional 65 Euros to get another covid test from a pharmacy when I reported a head cold and had already taken a test and been negative. This was handled by Katarina in an abrupt and uninformed manner that was , I suspect, more about asserting her leadership over Emma and the others than it was about any sort of health or safety concerns. I was initially bothered by this. But as I say, a few spectacular long hikes smoothed this all over. I hope this doesn’t seem too picayune. Overall, the trip was great.

WOW! Every aspect of this trip was amazing! It far exceeded my expectations. The National Parks were absolutely gorgeous; the guides were knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and FUN! Their personalized touch for each and every one of the travelers was spot on! The hotels, restaurants and food were also perfect for each location. Every aspect of this tour was well planned and thought out. Each hike or activity (canyoning) was well done! Steve and Bryson are wonderful guides! I hope to book another trip soon.

My wife Robin and I just finished a 9 day adventure of the Mighty 5 National parks in Utah with Austin Adventures. We had a fantastic time.
Our Guides (Steve and Bryson) were the best!! They took us on wonderful hikes in all the parks averaging 6-8 miles/day. The hotels and food were great. The trip was exciting and something I will remember the rest of my life. "Kudos" Austin Adventures for a job well done. Thank you for the experience of a lifetime. We plan to book another trip in the future.

This was my first trip and I wasn't sure what to expect, but it exceeded all of my expectations! It was a retirement gift for me for my husband and myself to take this trip together. First of all, Steve and Bryson are both top notch professional guides and people. They took care of everything, which made our trip stress free and truly enjoyable. I believe the guides can make or break your experience and they were EXCELLENT! The hiking excursions, restaurants, awesome views, home made lunches by the guides, etc. were second to none. The extra friendly and thoughtful touches by Steve and Bryson made our group feel like a family. I have no bad comment or even constructive criticism
about the trip. Truly outstanding! The hikes did push me but they had a good feel for our group's capabilities and took plenty of rest stops when needed.

The trip title should be Makalali private game reserve and Cape Town.
We did not go to Kruger National Park on this trip. Kruger was never listed as part of the safari trip.

1 Flights to SA were not that sorted out. We had to arrive a day ahead, and had to miss the last day shuttle due to our earlier flight. Those disconnects were disappointing.
2 The lodges were wonderful. Probably due to the COVID disruption, walking tours became driven tours. We did see a lot, but I was so looking forward to the walking game drives.
3 I understand the schedule pressures that made the city walking tour in the AM and the climb to Table Mountain in the afternoon. But, that's after another scheduled great (big) meal that most of us decided to miss due to the impending climb.
4 Wine tours were great, but the dining schedules were so compacted that we ate too much in too short a time: Breakfast in Franshoek at 0800, with the wine/foodie tour starting at 1000 in Stellenboesh that lasted to 1300. Lunch followed right after and we didn't finish until 1500. Then dinner at 1800?! All the food were tasty, but it was too much in a very short time. It became an Active Eating Adventure tour.
5 Perhaps because of the 1-3 activity rating that the activities were very light but the eating was heavy? We were used to the 3-4 ratings of the previous trips where the food was hearty but appropriate to the level of activities.
6 Love the tour guide: knowledgeable and full of stories and background of the country. We found out that this was his first tour for Active. He's a keeper.

An African safari has been on the top of my bucket list ever since high school. This year, I finally checked that box and the trip could not have been more amazing! In addition to seeing the Big 5 and other amazing animals up close and personal in their natural environment, we also explored Cape Town and Table Mountain and wine country! Our guide, Jamie, was extremely knowledgeable about every topic and I came away having learned and experienced so much more than I ever imagined. I highly recommend this trip!
