This was our first trip with Austin Adventures and we were so impressed with the staff and the details that went in to making an amazing experience for all the guests on the trip. We will definitely be back for another trip!

Active Adventures small group tour makes it easy to see Iceland and stay active. The activity on this trip is "light" on physical demands by our standards. Our fellow travelers were all great--professionals from mid-thirties to seventies. Everyone got along and all but one were active adventure alumni. Our Iceland guide worked hard to give us good information and a fun experience.

I can't say enough great things about our guides, Joel Serrano and Matt. Not only did they take care of us in every way but were super fun, friendly, smart, engaging, and most of all they were just as excited to be on the trip as we were and it showed. They accommodated every detail above and beyond and made it seem effortless. I loved the trip, every activity we did was so much fun.

I loved the trip. The itinerary was perfect- we were busy, were active everyday and didn't spend a lot of time in the car. Most of the activity was easy so I'd rate this trip a Level 2. Also, I'd suggest that the Cedar Ridge hike be a full hike for those who choose and a half hike for those who are not in the best shape. The food was amazing- the catered lunches were not heavy and very fresh. The meal at the Hassayampa was very good but the portions were riduculously large. Joel and Matt were very personable, knowledgeable and accomodating. They are great guides. The size of the group - 11 travelers- was perfect. I was very fortunate to be a solo traveler with 10 of the funniest, nicest and active adults. Our group bonded immediately and Joel and Matt enhanced that experience with their charm and personality.

Our second Austin Adventures trip was just as spectacular as our first (Yellowstone and Paradise Valley). What made it great were the two wonderful guides that we had (and the fantastic group of fellow travelers). The trip wasn't without some unexpected challenges, like the trailer breaking down and one of our group having some temporary medical trouble, but Mathew and Joel handled them with virtually no impact to our good time.
This is no "laid back relaxing trip". You are going from early morning until night seeing and experiencing incredible sites and activities, while learning about the history and culture of the areas. Just the way I like it.

Wow. Wow. Wow!! Bucket list destination for sure. We expected to see wildlife. Boy did we see more than we thought!! Rookeries of blue-footed boobies with their young. Snorkelled over at least 8 hammerheads. Nursing sea lions on every island. Galápagos penguins. Swimming iguanas around us on one snorkel. SO many turtles. Our guides Pepo and Paolo took AMAZING care of us and every detail. We so enjoyed sharing our adventures together and getting to know them. Both are a wealth of knowledge and a HUGE asset to Galakiwi. We can’t wait to return!! Highly recommend this land-based and active tour versus any liveaboard. We felt so welcome on every island and truly enjoyed meeting, talking with and supporting locals. Can’t recommend this trip highly enough. You will truly come back with the best memories of adventure and nature ever. Thank you Active Adventures!!

I've wanted to go to Alaska for years, but I'm not a cruise person. This Active Adventures trip let us experience part of this beautiful state in the ways I like best. I loved the hiking and biking, the Kenai Fjords tour was incredible, and the guides could not have been better. We're usually ready to go home at the end of the vacation, but we were not even starting to get tired of our adventure, our guides, or our other group members. Before we were home, I was already checking to see if Active traveled to other parts of Alaska, because I would like to explore the Inside Passage.

This was my favorite US vacation. The mix of scenery, outdoor activities, and animal viewing was beyond expectations. I shared many pictures with my associates at work, and many of them mentioned a desire to travel to Alaska and asked for my itinerary.

This tour included incredible views of the amazing Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, including a variety of wildlife! We were able to enjoy the vast, picturesque landscapes through our hikes, riding the bike paths, and rafting down the Snake River. Our guides were knowledgeable, fun, and professional. If you are considering this tour, be sure to know your activity level; some in the tour were unable to complete the daily activities while others didn't find it difficult enough. We were active most of the day, but at an easy to moderate level.

This is our 2nd set of adventures with Active Adventures, and we are impressed with the operations of this tour company. We will definitely travel with them again. Iceland is a land apart, being an island, being geothermally active, unusual critters, beautiful glaciers and friendly folks. Pretty fine beer and food too. Our guide, Solvi, was outstanding. His sense of humour, kindness and informational chats were great. Local guides make travel more interesting. And the Icelandic "word of the day" was fun to learn. The hotels were very nice, being centrally located in small towns. We had diverse activities to fill our days, so we all had some interesting challenges. Walking in crampons is a skill for sure!

We have gone on many vacation tours and by far our guides on this Montana trip were the very best and made our vacation very enjoyable. We loved the trip and our overall experience for the trip was exceptional except for service from the travel consultant Kelly Palmer. I booked this trip with Kelly, and booked my departure date of 09/10/2021 at 1:45pm with Delta airline. A couple weeks later I received an email from Delta saying the flight schedule has changed from 1:45 pm to 11:20am, I contacted Kelly immediately to update my departure time. Kelly emailed me back saying that I have to arrange my own transfer back to the airport since the last destination was about an hour away from the airport. She suggested that I to contact North of Yellowstone taxi. I called a few times and left messages and they never called back. I contacted Kelly at Austin again and she responded me on the third day of the trip (due to the weekend) and told me the same thing that I have to arrange my own transportation. I had the Hotel staff help me to find the transportation from CHICO back to the airport and had no luck what so ever. I was worried, frustrated and depressed. I don't know how I was getting back to the airport on the departure date. Finally, I told the trip guides what happened, they were very

Wow, what a great trip and experience. We learned Yellowstone from bottom to top. Thermal features and wildlife were on the agenda everyday. We hiked to all the known places and several unknown. We saw a bull elk, a grizzly bear, and 3 moose fairly close up, along with lots of bison, big horn sheep, pronghorns, and coyotes. We learned the unique ecosystem that is Yellowstone. Our guides Bryan and Carrie are experts and fun to be with. They cooked us lunch everyday on the trail, maybe our favorite meals. We rode horses on a cattle ranch and learned of two wolf killings the night before, again part of Yellowstone. And our last night was at a luxury hot spring, a huge hit with all. The camaraderie in the van was fun. These two guides are experts, they've seen everything and can handle anything that does or doesn't come up.

And lastly, we were there when it was crowded. We frequently saw long lines, but we rarely had to wait. Our guides knew when to go where and we missed the crowd for the most part. That's why we were able to experience so much in 5 days. If we hadn't had our guides, we would have spent half our vacation in a line not seeing anything.

This was definitely one of our top trips of all times. We were super impressed with all of the little details and couldn't have asked for better guides nor group to tour with. We appreciated that we could do so many activities in the 6 days and timing was impeccable for to catch various sightings.
