There are not enough superlatives to explain how wonderful this trip was for Paul and me. The weather was perfect. Our two guides, Lauren and Ash were kind, generous with their knowledge, and fun to be with. And your beautiful country! My oh my....seeing so much of the South Island was a treat. We will follow-up with one of your trips to North Island next. We thank you for the bottom of our Canadian hearts. Active Adventures is a class-act.

We lucked into an amazing group of fellow hikers, beautiful weather, the best guides (Koru, Alicia and Holly), and perhaps the most remarkable country on the planet. Yes that loooong climb straight up (or it felt like it) to Mt Angelus hut was a little more challenging than I had anticipated. But with Koru's patient encouragement and support I made it to the top and was greeted by the rest of our team cheering me on. Totally worth it.

Trekking across a somewhat crooked line across the Southern Island of New Zealand I experienced just about every climate one could possibly imagine. I knew from my grandparents the landscape was going to be spectacular, and it absolutely was. I fell in love with everything about New Zealand; the Alps, home to the majestic Mt. Cook and the breathtaking iridescent blue glacial waters of Lake Tekapo, the take your breath away view as you emerge from the Homer Tunnel into a surreal basin of massive, rugged, towering cliffs adorned with endless waterfalls, the most rewarding and dramatic views climbing through scree slopes and scrambling over boulders on the Angelus Circuit to a mountain hut among the clouds, to journeying through lush green moss covered beech forests mesmerized by the uniquely melodic sounds of the native Tui. Alas, if this doesn't entice you to consider an Active New Zealand Adventure consider this, every little detail from meal planning, choosing comfortable accommodations and mastering driving on the "other" side of the road is all taken care of by professional, knowledgeable, personable and engaging guides. It's cliche, but, this was a trip of a lifetime.

From the logistics and preparation of Active Adventures to our outstanding trip leader, Jessica, who added her own special touches and cultural information, my journey reaped the rewards of when people working hard together reach beyond any circumstances and gel as a team that tackles every activity, any obstacle or delay, and are able to enjoy our accomplishments and the sights before us as we hiked, viewed, rode and shared in newly formed friendship throughout our Patagonia adventure. Excellente!

I had such a wonderful experience at all levels. The itinerary suited me so well and met my threshold for an active adventure. The two guides were tremendous; personable, interesting, knowledgeable, excited for each day's activities, encouraging, calm and patient. The trip was well planned out. Yes, it is a lot of driving but broken up well and how else can you get a broad New Zealand experience without traveling a bit? Although I am more of a hiker, and hiking was the primary activity, there was a nice mix of other activities sprinkled throughout that I appreciated. I also enjoyed all of our accommodations. I do have one compliant... the food, especially meals prepared by our guides, was too good. Despite the physical focus of the trip I gained a couple of pounds! Sure, there was lots of fruit options. And I could have resisted seconds or dessert... but I didn't! Trip of a lifetime!

After coming to New Zealand multiple times to visit family, I decided it was time to actually EXPERIENCE this beautiful country starting with the South Island. Active Adventures beautifully incorporated the Kiwi home-cooked foods and customs, the Maori stories, and stays in top-notch spots that require special local relationships. I'm looking forward to doing this again on the North Island.

The Tui trip was a great time. Many different activities throughout the trip. I felt I had the opportunity to really experience the south island and learn A LOT about New Zealand. Pim and Sal were great guides! They made it fun, informative and did a great job accommodating all the different athletic abilities of the group. I loved all the different activities. Thanks for such a great experience!

We loved this adventure. We have lots of experience with guided hiking tours mainly in Europe and this was one of our favorites. It was a very unique tour. The best scenery of New Zealand, hearty hiking and a good variety of activities made for an awesome time. Ken and Brogan are very special. Their knowledge of NZ flora and fauna and everything else was outstanding.

The Rimu trip was the trip of a lifetime. From the mind-blowing scenery on the east coast of the South Island to the incredible vistas of the high alpine treks it was everything that I could have wished for.Challenging overnight hikes in the real Kiwi back country to the alpine huts followed by the comfortable lodges, retreats and B&Bs at days end, it was the most comprehensive South Island experience one could imagine.Kayaking on Okarito and mountain biking to the beautiful shores of Lake Wanaka this trip really had it all. The guides were incredible, a combination of cook, Mother, Father, teacher, sherpa and buddy they served great food and shared our daily experiences with enthusiasm and encouragement. Outstanding.

I loved the RIMU TOUR program in the South Island of New Zealand. The scenery is beautiful by nature and the program was, simply, fantastic. Of all the adventure trips I have taken and there have been a few, Florence, Berlin, Tromso, Dublin, Wall of China, Petra, of all the trips I have ever taken, this was undoubtedly one of the best. You can use my name and surname (Cely Freitas). I'll share some fotos. Cheers

The trip was great. What impressed us the most was how well the guides managed everything. This included not only the daily hikes and tours, but also preparing meals and being able to do all of the physical hiking and climbing.

Last year I had an opportunity to visit New Zealand for the first time. I choose Active Adventures tour as wanted to explore this beautiful country and diverse landscape by foot with minimal time spent in cities and driving. I was not disappointed at all! The North Island trip was excellent and fully met snd exceeded our expectations! Our guides, Andy and Jo-Jo were both great, very knowledgeable and caring. We were lucky to have very small group of similar abilities, and guides always providing us with opportunities to push above our limits and experience new things and enjoy ourselves. We tried luge for the first time, did mountain biking on brand new fat tired bikes, swam at every possible places. We did a wet option to see glowing warm, and despite it was is not what I was mentally prepared for, but was truly unique experience. All the places we visited and hikes we did were well selected and a scenery is breathtaking. The food was great quality and variety. I would recommend this tour to everyone who appreciate healthy activities and likes outdoor while enjoying a comfort.
