We took months choosing just the right trip to celebrate a special birthday, and every single day of this trip we reflected on how grateful we were that we chose this one. We hit the jackpot with Pablo as our guide - not only was he knowledgable, enthusiastic and helpful - he is truly a wonderful human being and he made this trip very special. We debated whether to do a boat-based or land-based trip and ultimately made the decision to do this land-based option - we really like the idea of infusing money into the local island economy and really enjoyed staying at the locally owned hotels. Each island we visited was unique and we loved the volcano hike, swimming in the bay, kayaking, and even the boat rides between islands. We got to see dolphins jumping in the middle of the sea, giant tortoises fighting and mating, thousands of baby iguanas and all the amazing birds of the islands. The highlight, without a doubt, was the snorkeling - having the opportunity to swim with sea turtles, iguanas, rays, penguins, sharks and countless varieties of fish on a few different days was so enjoyable. We can not recommend this trip enough!
