Overall, it was a great family celebration. Retrospectively and having talked to other travelers we met on different daily adventures, it would have been nice to have an even better idea of what specific location might have been available for day trips. While I understand national park regulations limit who/how many go where and when, it would have been great to perhaps specify which wildlife we really wanted to see as part of the planning (we were bummed not to see the penguins, for example). Otherwise, I ultimately had a positive planning experience with Austin. When I first generically reached out by phone, I was not impressed with the person I spoke to or emailed with--she maybe didn't really understand what I was asking or looking for through our correspondence, but after a few weeks of back and forth, I basically still had only the information I could find by myself through the website. When I contacted Carol directly, I was pretty instantly more confident in the service and information provided directly to my individual inquiries.
