When I started planning my New Zealand adventure vacation, more than anything, I wanted to be sure it included the right mix of activity and relaxation. The Kiwi trip was spot on for me!
I loved the small group size and the variety of daily adventures that were included. We covered a lot of New Zealand territory but our great guides, Lauren and Kaleb, made our travels truly awesome by keeping us informed, safe, and on-time. They were congenial, knowledgeable, organized and great fun!

What an experience!! I’m an avid traveler & have seen some of the most beautiful places in the world. I now have a favorite, the Himalayas. What a fabulous place! I loved the hike, the people, the guides, the villages & the challenge. The entire group made it to Base Camp solely due to the effort & pampering of our guides. The guides were always there for us, making sure we were comfortable, eating, drinking, & sleeping. Every day was a new experience in beauty & challenges. Ive been home for 6 months & still think about the experience daily. It was life changing for many reasons. Active Adventures took such good care of us, we’ve already booked our next trip to Patagonia.

The Himalayas have been a place I’ve wanted to visit for most of my 60 plus years on this earth, and of course see Mount Everest In person. This trip did not disappoint!!!! Actually that last statement was not 100% correct.. The only thing I wish I could change is the technology that would allow a camera to capture the true essence and surreal experience of what I saw with my own two eyes.. I think I took approximately 2000 pictures trying to capture that incredible beauty and essence..haha The good part is, my memories of this trip are permanent.. Active Adventures did an amazing job putting this whole epic trek together.. The pace was perfect for me as I am a slower steady but consistent climber..I was never pushed beyond my abilities. In the three weeks so I was out there I cannot recall one problem that popped up.. our head guide and our local sherpa guides were very professional, courteous and accommodating.. I’m definitely recommending active aventures to a couple close friends of mine who are considering doing this trek

This trip exceeded all my expectations - guides, the scenery, the difficulty, the camaraderie, the people and the pure awe of the Himalayans. Nepal is a poor country that is rich in tradition, humanity and pure beauty. The Nepalese are so very generous and showed their kindness every day. The guides and porters made sure everyone had the best experience. They were always supportive, engaging and encouraging. This was definitely an once in a lifetime experience I will never forget.

This adventure was action packed from the get go. Food was amazing! Hikes, bike, and kayak excursions were beautiful and the people we traveled with were the best. Guides were over the top amazing. They worked their tails off for us.

Our Active Adventures Himalayas trip was close to indescribable. The mountains, the people, the food - everything about Nepal was beyond what we imagined and the Active Adventures guides and porter team were the icing on the cake, looking after us in every possible way from the moment we arrived to when we departed again 2 weeks later.

The trip exceeded my expectations in every way. The Annapurna region provides the stunning scenery with its towering peaks and deep valleys but it was our guides Dan and Arjun who really made the trek a superlative experience. Of course, they efficiently handled the “nuts & bolts†of the tour — the rooms, the meals, the flights, transport, and all the little things that ensured an enjoyable and worry-free tour. But it was their enthusiasm to share Nepalese culture with us that really made the whole tour exceptional. I had experiences and interactions with the local people that I would have NEVER otherwise had on my own. Overall, a top-notch experience that I will never forget!

I have been to NZ a few times but on this trip I learned and saw many new things ! The birds, plants, geography, geology, history and Maori mythology all fascinated me. The west coast with its lush rain forests were all new to me, just beautiful. The activities and walks were awesome. Everything was very well planned and organised.

We have travelled to NZ a few times in the past, but never before have we experienced it like this. Active Adventures showed us the REAL NZ as only 'locals' know it and with non stop adventure! The ease and flexibility of the Tour, GREAT guides, fantastic food, jaw dropping scenery and 'getting out there' challenging yourself, together makes this a VERY special experience. Highly recommended coming from somebody in the tourism industry.

We took this trip (our 2nd with AA) to trek to the foot of the greatest mountains on the planet. We got that and so much more. Our guides, DK and Arjun, along with our porters, turned out to be great human beings and friends who introduced us to a culture and way of life we hardly knew. We came away with a profound respect for Nepal and the Nepali people and how much they could teach the rest of the world. Whatever it took, they made certain we were all successful in reaching Annapurna Base Camp and, even more importantly, getting to know and understand the people of Nepal. We have lots of spectacular photos and our hearts are full of memories that made this trip special.

I was looked after from the moment I was picked up at the airport to the moment I was dropped off at the end. Nothing was too much trouble for our guides and we all got on so well (guests and guides).

I had high expectations for our Jaguar adventure in Peru. They were exceeded. The amazing itinerary, photos of previous trips didn't tell the full story of how welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly, encouraging and hard working our guide Gustavo, the local specialist guides for Macchu Picchu and the jungle, our porters etc were. The trip was a delight and an educational experience every day, rain or shine. We will definitely look at doing another trip with Active Adventures.

The two week Rimu trip with Active Adventures was the trip of a lifetime! New Zealand's scenic diversity (e.g. fiords, glaciers, rain forest, vineyards, etc) was truly amazing. Every day was an enjoyable adventure. The trip was very well organized. Our leaders, Maya and "Button", were fun, knowledgeable, and flexible in providing options to accommodate varying levels of fitness. My husband and I are planning to explore the Lake District in Northern Italy as our next Active Adventure trip!

I couldn't have asked for a better vacation. This is the first time I booked a tour and as hesitant as I was for the unknown, I am very happy that I went with Action Adventure. Our guides Kaleb and Ruby were top notch! These guys have this trip planned right down to science. Every day and all the activities were well coordinated. The guides made sure nobody was left behind and they went with us every step of the way. I was impressed by their knowledge and it seemed like they had all the answers to our questions as if they had prepared ahead of time : ) Traveling alone I wasn't sure what kinda group I will be involved in but when I met everyone, I was very excited. You make friends along the way and more importantly memories. I want to take this moment to highlight that our guides went out of their way to fulfill my dietary needs. I eat halal meat and Ruby was able to get to lamb halal steak for me. You have to remember this is a hiking trip and some places it is not possible to get halal meat which was fine with me. I was there to hike and enjoy the beautiful scenery of New Zealand which was just absolutely mesmerizing. New Zealand is one of the most beautiful country I have been to. The people, topography, weather and change in scenery and waterfalls are just jaw dropping. I cant wait to visit again!

From start to finish, the folks from Active Adventures succeeded in creating the perfect outdoor experience in New Zealand. Our guides, Kaleb and Ruby, were truly the best and went out of their way to make sure our trip was exceptional. Ruby’s cooking set a new standard for wonderful although the simple Tim-Tam Slam at Angelus Hut on a snowy afternoon is hard to beat. When a bridge washed out on the west coast threatening our planned route, Active Adventures went to great lengths to make sure our trip continued without interruption. Overall, we could not have been more pleased with our trip and have already started looking at what which Active Adventure is next. Seriously, we could not recommend the whole trip enough!
