This was a trip of a lifetime. Words don‘t do justice. You have to experience it. I felt in very good hands with Active Aventures the minute I showed interest in the Rimu Trip. So very well organized. The Tour simply was amazing. Everyday exceeded the previous one. And the food OMG , spoiled rotten. Both Mel and Claire our tour guides were simply amazing. Very attentive, told us a lot of stories about the country and the locals and took care of us very well. Will not be my last trip with Active Adventure for sure!

This trip was amazing and so well organized! Our guide was born and raised in the Galapagos Islands so he had a lot of knowledge as well as out of the way spots for us to visit. I debated between a cruise and land-based tour and I'm so glad we decided to stay on land with this tour group. We were able to experience the culture every time we went for a walk after dinner or when there was a street festival. Our guide took care of the kind of details that would have taken us a long time to negotiate, leaving us with more leisure time and excellent dining choices. The trip itself was almost unbelievable: we swam with penguins, sea lions, turtles, rays, marine iguanas and even docile sharks during the several snorkeling trips we took. Hiking and bike riding also exposed us to other animals and microclimates on the islands. We had our 2 teenage kids on the trip and they loved every minute. I highly recommend Active Adventures tours if you love the outdoors and like meeting similarly-minded people.

We absolutely loved our tour of The South Island with Kaleb and Lauren. We experienced so many different terrains and saw so many unique landscapes from rainforests to glaciers to farmland and desserts! It was so beautiful ! But more importantly we experienced life in New Zealand with our wonderful guides! Kaleb told us much about the history, the landscaper and life in NZ. Lauren also made outstanding meals and catered to all our different eating habits. They both helped us finish hikes, encouraging me when some hikes got tough! Hosting meals in their suite or meeting area made me feel like I was visiting a friend, it was so personal and felt like home! I would highly recommend this trip to everyone! Ten out of ten rating!

Superb trip. Well-organized, excellent coordination of various activities. Friendly, competent guides. Good hotels, great meals. Spectacular scenery, in a fascinating part of the world. Even the weather was good. Can be physically demanding if not in good aerobic condition, but rewarding. Overall, a terrific experience.

Andy and Jo showed us parts of New Zealand that we would likely not have experienced on our own. We appreciated the uniqueness of the tour. Andy was an encyclopedia of knowledge, a fantastic driver and kept us "on track" at all times. Jo was knowledgeable, always upbeat, attentive and cooked wonderful, nutritious meals with lots of attention to detail and dietary preferences.

We were able to see and do so much more with our tour than we would have on our own. We had a great time exploring and combined with the knowledge and history our guides provided, made the trip priceless!

If you only have 5 days to explore New Zealand's North Island, this is the way to do it! Great balance of scenic highlights, Maori culture, adventures that push you outside your comfort zone, relaxing evenings, and always with a swimming hole in reach to beat the heat. Our guides were fantastic- knowledgeable, supportive, and quickly became like family. Would highly recommend this trip with Active!

This was our first time to New Zealand and our first "active adventure" type of trip, and will not be our last, on either front. Our experience with Active Adventures from start to finish was wonderful. You will truly enjoy this trip if you are looking for something to experience all New Zealand has to offer in a short time.

Looking over the different tour groups and itineraries out there, I am so glad I chose Active Adventures for my Patagonia trip. This trip was very robust in terms of activity level, and I would classify as moderate/strenuous due to the long days of hiking. We had a nice mix of hiking and more relaxed days. Every day seemed to be a highlight.

The trip was excellent, our two host did a wonderful job, they worked together like trained proffesionals and they had fun doing it. Both Kim and Astrid were full of information and fun facts. Kim's driving was perfect at all times, and her and Astrid worked seamlessly to make our trip a great one. The food was always very good and plentiful. The hikes and walks were the right pace and the views spectacular. All the people on the trip were nice and everyone got along very well and all were timely and polite, that helped to make it one of the best trips we have been on any place in the world. Many thanks to Kim and Astrid ( sorry if I spelled any names wrong. John & Val

This was our first time in New Zealand and it was a family vacation during spring break. What a fantastic adventure! We thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of NZ, the attention to detail provided by Active Adventures and our wonderful guides (Ellie and Laura). Highly recommended, activity packed week.
